Call for Virtual Workshop

Aerospace, Digital Transformation, & Artificial Intelligence

Workshop Objectives:

Aspirations in areas of aerospace, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation brought forth disruptive technologies that drew substantial attentions of both civilian and military domains. Ethiopia has just embarked on some of these endeavors for the purpose of exploiting the available technologies and to achieve their benefits through education and research. The proposed workshop is, therefore, to provide a platform for Ethiopian professionals and various governmental sectors so that collaborative work on research and development can be foreseen. Particular emphasis of this workshop is on the implementation of aerospace technology, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation in sectors such as defense, law enforcement, information network and security, medical, agricultural, and urban development. The workshop will feature keynote speeches, oral and poster presentations, and panel discussions on the values of aerospace technology, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation for both civilian and military uses. Presentations and discussions will be published on Abay Journal of Space Research (AJSR). Panel discussions will focus on the way forward to create a tangible network among academia as well as affiliated local sectors for problem-based research directions to meet the very needs of the country. Moreover, invited experts and researchers of the field will pinpoint the current as well as the future directions of research works in the areas of aerospace, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation. Workshop Schedule The virtual workshop is planned to be held on August 20&21, 2021. There will be three sessions in this workshop: Friday afternoon, Saturday morning, and Saturday afternoon. The workshop will start on August 20 at 19:30 and end on August 23:30 (military time). Panel discussions will be held at the end of each session.
