Pre-Qualification for the Selection of a Consulting Firm that provides Consultancy Services for the Development of High Resolution Earth Observation Satellite.

1. Introduction

Ethiopian Space Science and Technology Institute (ESSTI) being an autonomous government organization, has been established to enable the country to fully exploit multi-dimensional uses of space science and technology. With the mandates vested on it; ESSTI is working for the development of different satellite systems and aerospace infrastructures to conduct space research and applications.

Until now with the support of its partners, ESSTI has launched two low resolution earth observation satellites and now the institute is planning to develop another earth observation satellite to ensure data continuity which will act as ETRSS-1’s successor. The satellite will be sub-metric high resolution optical remote sensing satellite.

To this end the institute is thus inviting competent and experienced international consulting firms to submit their EOI for the consultancy services towards the development of the satellite.

2. Objective of Expression of Interest

In order to support with the development and procurement of the satellite, ESSTI wants to hire a consulting firm that provides the consultancy services in the development of the satellite including but not limited to mission requirements review, propose different mission architectures, develop technical specifications, support in the preparation of procurement documents for international tender for turnkey satellite development, and possibly support in project financing options and find international financers. Interested international consulting firms are invited to submit their EOI for pre-qualification selection to provide the consultancy service as described in the scope of work of this call.
