Consultancy Services: The selected consultancy firm will prepare project proposal (bid document) for the procurement, construction and operation of small satellite Assembly, Integration and Testing (AIT) facility and satellite development.

1.0 Introduction

The Ethiopian government established the Ethiopian Space Science and Technology Institute (ESSTI) with the mission of contributing to the development of the national economy by providing creative and social services to our people and improving their living conditions in the field of space science and technology.

Since the establishment of ESSTI, the institute has been working in the area of aerospace engineering such as mission-based satellite development and realizing satellite assembly, integrating and testing infrastructure. Until now with the support of its partners, ESSTI has launched two low-resolution earth observation satellites and is currently operating ETRSS-1 (The First Ethiopian Remote Sensing Satellite) with its mission control center at Entoto, Addis Ababa).

Hence, the institute is planning to develop a center for satellite AIT (Assembly, Integration, and Testing). For this reason, is requesting an expression of Interest (EoI) to procure a proposal document for a small satellite AIT center that includes AIT building design, AIT facility Equipment (Test Facility Equipment (TFE), Industrial Equipment (IE), and small satellite development and manufacturing.
